Finally, a shoe I can wear all day long
I've had foot problems this past year. Shoes that I had worn comfortably for years, including other Rockports, Ecco, New Balance, Avia, Reebock, Asics, etc..., were suddenly uncomfortable and painful to wear all day long.These Rockports are great. I'm finally NOT in a hurry to get home and get into my slides. I was to the point that I'd pay $300 or better for a comfortable pair of shoes. This shoe is well worth the money.
They are LIGHT and feel like slippers while offering great support all day
For many years I wore whatever iteration of 99_ New Balance was producing, however my most recent pair just did not do it for me. Looking for a new solution, I came across these. They are LIGHT and feel like slippers while offering great support all day. I am on my feet 70% of the work day and have a pleasant hike from the park to my office. The leather surround keeps my feet dry as I walk through the morning dew and I love the fact that there is no major "branding" on the sides of the shoe. One shoe, the right, was a bit snug at first but stretched comfortably and was as comfortable as the left on the second day. Presuming these shoes hold up for day to day wear, I have found my new shoe for years to come.
New Balance Gets It Right
I ordered these shoes because I am a fan of New Balance - they make great running shoes so I knew they would do the same with their golf shoes. I was not disappointed! Based on other reviews, I did order 1/2 size larger than normal and that turned out to be the right thing to do. The Minimus LX is a light shoe but with lots of stability and a large toe box which fits my wide foot without going to a wide shoe. I play three days a week and do a lot of walking on the course and these shoes are perfect. Out of the box I spent an hour on the range, then played 18 the next day and they were broken in and ready for the rest of the summer.
Most comfortable in 30+ years running
I am in late 60's and have run for over 30 years for exercise and enjoyment....have used New Balance, and Asics, primarily Asics for much of that time. Certainly, I have used lots of running shoes.. I was not familiar with Altra shoes. Initially I bought the Altra Superior model which i liked, but had zero cushioning. The Torin 1.5 shoes, which i have used for 2 months now are honestly the most comfortable shoes I've used....the zero drop, wide toe box and great cushioning make them very comfortable for an ol' guy like me. At this point, I intend to continue using this model as i continue to run.
They still fit but would be more comfortable just a half size up
