I had very little discomfort from them on the first day. I am very happy with this pair of Pumas and plan on making this my brand of choice.

Nike are the best shoes for running.
Air Max Sequent Nikes are the best shoes for running. When the heel touches down on the running cycle the air in the heel cushions the foot, even while walking these are very comfortable.

Just an FYI - for Nikes, I wear 10.5, for these a size 10 still give me plenty of room to wiggle my toes.
