Runs a bit narrow
Got the Nike Air Max 1 Triple Black and they've exceeded expectations. Nice shoes overall but they run about half a size narrow. I have slightly wide feet and had to go up half a size from my usual. Once I got the right size, they're comfortable and look great. The leather quality is good but not exceptional at this price point. The cushioning is firm but supportive for daily wear.
Comfortable and stylish
These are my go-to sneakers now. The cushioning is excellent for all-day wear - I work retail and on my feet for 8+ hours. The breathable upper keeps feet cool and the padded insole provides great arch support. Build quality is consistent with what I expect from Nike. They crease a bit after heavy wear but that's normal for any leather sneaker. Sizing is spot on. My usual size fits like a glove.
Super comfortable right out of the box
Bought these Nike Air Max 1 Triple Black about a month ago.
Fell apart after a month
These look amazing but are brutally uncomfortable for anyone with wider feet. The narrow toe box puts constant pressure on my pinky toe. Tried stretching them for two weeks with no improvement. Had to sell them at a loss. Beautiful design but Nike needs to offer wide options for this model.
Nike Structure is Still the Only Running Shoe for me
This is almost a corrective shoe when compared with other running shoes. Apparently that's what I need because "neutral" running shoes just seem too boaty or mushy for me. I want to be confident when I step down hard on a curb or step. For real running, and by that, I mean in an awkward urban environment, dodging cars, dogs, bicycles, etc, this shoe can't be beat. It's so supportive it makes it hard for me to wobble or turn the wrong way despite the fact that I have some bad stride habits particularly in the early miles before I straighten things out. There are other types of supportive running shoes, but they all seem to be heavier. I don't want a tank hiking-style boot. I want the lightest-weight running shoe I can get, but with lots of support so I can just focus on stride and have fun. I think this is the one. It's got a lot of cushion underneath and doesn't skimp up front beneath the toes which is key for me. It's got a lot of boxy supportive material on the upper which I'm not sure I like as much as Structure Triax generations past, but the newer tongue design is so great, it almost doesn't matter. I don't need to mess with it at all. It just stays where it's supposed to and doesn't get pushed forward which is awesome. Styling-wise, I think the company is kind of blowing this shoe off more or less. Or maybe it's ahead of the curve minimalism(?). I don't know and I really don't care. This is for running. I think the flash-type material stands out in the dark, so that could be useful on night runs but I'll have to see. I'll update if I find to the contrary.
Five Stars
Quality show from Nike!
great
This shoes are great for the money. I used these shoes throughout an entire marching band season and they are still holding up. No holes or anything. The only recommendation I would have is a new design. They look too much like roshis by Nike so people think you are wearing knock offs. Over all a great shoe that I would definitely buy again.
when I first put them on I felt like I was walking on clouds
To be fair, my old Nike Air Max running shoes were way past their life expectancy when I got these. However, when I first put them on I felt like I was walking on clouds, so comfortable and light. I do a 5K about every other day, and these are a delight on my feet. And the colors are fun, too.
