I was having a difficult time finding my size in my normal New Balance shoe and decided to try these. I was very surprised in a great way!

comfortable and light weight, predictable sizing, no defects, looks good, good value. Some reviewers allege that New Balance sizing has changed; I always buy size 10EEEE, and these fit the same as shoes 20 years ago. If you shop online you should learn about New Balance shoe lasts. These are built on SL1, the original sizing. Some styles are built on newer lasts and fit more snugly.
Great value, predictable New Balance sizing
I will use this shoe for trail walking, and it seems perfect for that. Some reviewers are complaining that New Balance shoes are smaller than in the past; this is not true. I have always bought 10EEEE, and these fit the same as shoes 20 years ago. I have noticed over the years that New Balance shoes are popular with obese people. Perhaps those peoples feet expand over time.<br />If you are going to order New Balance shoes online, learn about their shoe lasts. These are constructed by the original sizing, called SL1. Some other styles use newer shoe lasts and fit a bit more snugly (SL1 is a little loose fitting anyway).

Another New Balance winner. True size and comfort.
I run for fitness and have owned and run in most brands of shoes. New Balance have always held up well and are true enough to size that I have been able to order them online with confidence. These shoes are no exception to that. They fit very well and are both supportive and comfortable. I chose the red color because of the black rubber sole rather than a blown rubber colored sole which I have found to be less durable. I would buy these again without hesitation. Five stars for sure.

son prefers these to new balance
I bought these for my son and he now prefers these to his new balance running shoes. He says they are a bit wider than the usual mens size 12 NB and have better cushioning and arch support for running. The toes did get abraded when he did some "dryland" exercises (bouncing around with the toes rather than the sole down) after swim practice, but that isn't exactly usual wear so I am not downgrading these for that. Given the price point and the fact that he won't wear anything else after having these for about a month, I'm giving these shoes 5 stars. Other than the wear on the toes (from being abused) they seem pretty durable so far, especially considering that my high-school-athlete-son is extremely hard on his footwear.
