Oversize - What's the BIG Tongue for?

OK, I don't play soccer. Maybe that is why the big tongue? In time does it lay down over the front or stay up to keep out dirt? Must be padding for instep when you kick the ball? It did not work for me.Ordered my size (13) but I could slide my foot so far forward there was room for fingers behind my heel. Tried heavier socks. Made shoe too narrow and there was still 1.5 inches in front of my big toe even on the larger foot. One of my feet is larger which is why I order 13. Other is maybe 12 or 12.5, same medium (D) width.........at least it's not my ears, LOL.IF shoes were shorter, a proper 13, fit was excellent with light socks. Construction was above average. However even if I re-ordered 12s?? that tongue looks and feels dumb. So today I am sending them back.Incidentally I also received a pair of Samoas in 13 and they fit perfect even though they are also adidas. So the oversize is just in the Samba? Overall the shoe is well made. Ordered second pair of Samoas.

Awesome Shoes With Classic Look

These are one of my favorite shoes ever made!!! I have 4 pairs of Samba's but I didn't have the actual indoor soccer classic Samba's. They are a great shoe for work or just as an everyday sneaker and they last forever!!! The classics do have a difference then the other Samba's the tongue of the shoe is extra long like on a soccer cleat, it doesn't bother me I like the look but some people may think its a little weird. They are a little stiff until you break them in, but after that they are super comfortable!!!

Love Sambas

Our family loves Adidas Sambas! These shoes are made superbly, take a beating, and fit great. We all have a pair (or two), and play hard in them. If you're looking for a toddler/child shoe that will hold up for more than 3 months, look no further.

Well-Balanced...

I seldom award five-stars period. When I do, the item is generally outstanding and this too is rarely said. I first purchased Asics sneakers about five years ago. From the moment I put them on, it was instantly comfortable. This pair was no different.The only thing I learned about this type of material, that is synthetics, is that depending on your foot size, you may have to go a half-size lower. I generally wear a size 9 for all leather sneakers; (Adidas Samba, Reebok Exofit Lo & Puma Speedcat), however, with this material, since it stretches easier, I had to round down to an 8.5. Twice I've had to do this, but it fit as expected. If you know your size accurately, then you can purchase via the internet, as did I.This sneaker is well-balanced for width, arch, heel support, toe box, tongue support, the laces are quite strong, and the length is decent.If you are a size 10 or above, then I don't know how you would measure that way, because I do not know if Asics makes this line that high. I would imagine they would, but it's best to find out if your size would be the exact same or still, a half size lower.Well worth the money. You won't be disappointed.

No Samba with this one.

This thong did not fit properly. It was not high enough for the comfort I was looking for. I usually have great results with Clarks...not this time. I was surprised.

Comfortable and well-made but tend to slip on laminate flooring

After wearing my Adidas 2G slides for 4.5 years, I decided it was time for a replacement. While I was generally happy with those slides, there was on irritating design flaw -- inadequate Velcro closure strength. This weakness appears to have been rectified with the latest generation, the Superstar 3G. When the previous shoes would occasionally tear open, it would lead to a rapid slip of the foot and painful kick into a wall or desk. It is nice to have this problem go away.Both generations of slides have been used entirely indoors and until recently, always on carpeting. It is surprising that the 2G slide soles exhibited significant wear on the soles within a few years of use. While only time will tell how durable the new version is, the soles are equally as soft. Oddly, and somewhat counterintuitive, both generations exhibit poor traction on new laminate flooring. The problem is dramatically worse with the slightest amount of dust. The problem partially lies with the floor material but the slipping isn't nearly as bad with traditional cross trainers or even dress shoes.Overall, the Adidas 3G slides are well-made and comfortable. Speechless

Simply incredible. I've been running on the treadmill with my Superstar II's and experiencing immense bunion and foot pain from the lack of absorption. These shoes completely changed running for me. The support, bounceback and lack of pain is incredible and definitely noticeable. I feel more stable running at higher speeds and my feet don't hurt nearly as much.Highly recommend the Nimbus 14's.
